This is the drink to serve by the hearth when the kids (and grown-ups) come in from a day of play in the snow. For bonus points, keep mini-marshmallows on hand.
Course: Drinks
Cuisine: American
Servings: 1
Ingredients
  • 1 c milk
  • 3 heaping t cocoa powder
  • 1/4 c sugar
Instructions
  1. Mix sugar and cocoa together in a small bowl.
  2. Pour milk into small saucepan. Add sugar and cocoa slowly with vigorous stirring, to avoid lumps.
  3. Turn on heat to medium-low and cook until nearly boiling.
  4. Serve hot or cold.
Recipe Notes

If you pour the milk while hot into a sterile (fresh from dishwasher is okay) glass jar or bottle it should keep refrigerated for another week. (By heating you re-Pasteurize the milk.)
