In a German deli they will typically have five or six different combinations of fresh vegetables and herbs mixed with a mild cream cheese. Feel free to get creative and develop your own favorites.

  • 1/2 cup finely diced fresh vegetables such as tomato, bell pepper, cucumber, carrot, any kind of onion, etc.
  • 4 oz plain cream cheese
  • 1 T fresh or 1 t dried chives
  • fresh ground black pepper
  1. Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl.
  2. Serve on crackers, bagels, or use in a sandwich.
