German-style “fresh cheese”
In a German deli they will typically have five or six different combinations of fresh vegetables and herbs mixed with a mild cream cheese. Feel free to get creative and develop your own favorites.
- 1/2 cup finely diced fresh vegetables such as tomato, bell pepper, cucumber, carrot, any kind of onion, etc.
- 4 oz plain cream cheese
- 1 T fresh or 1 t dried chives
- fresh ground black pepper
Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl.
Serve on crackers, bagels, or use in a sandwich.
