This recipe works with beef or pork link sausages. Spicy sausages are especially good.

Ingredients
1-2large link sausagesor 4-5 smaller sausages, cooked
1Tolive oil
8ozdry pastasuch as penne
1 1/2bell peppersany color
1/2onion
1Tbutter
4ozcream cheese
6Tcream or half-and-half
4ozgrated parmesan cheese
Instructions
Chop sausages into 1/2 inch rounds. Slice peppers into strips. Halve onion and slice in rings.
Heat 1 t olive oil over medium heat in medium frying pan. Fry peppers and onion until very soft, about 8 minutes. Add the sausage and fry another 2 minutes. Turn heat to low to keep warm.
Set pasta to cook according to package instructions.
While pasta cooks, make the sauce:
Melt butter in small saucepan over medium heat.
Add cream cheese and stir vigorously while cream cheese melts.
Slowly add cream stirring continuously.
Add parmesan cheese and continue to cook until cheese melts and sauce is thick and homogeneous.
Drain pasta when ready. Toss with sauce and vegetable-meat mixture and serve.
